Houston – Global law firm Hogan Lovells announced today that Krisa Benskin has joined the firm as a Corporate & Finance partner in our Houston office. She joins us from Latham & Watkins and will be a part of the Tax, Pensions & Benefits practice area.

“We are delighted to welcome Krisa to the firm,” said James Doyle, Global Head of the Corporate & Finance practice group. “With demand for M&A and public company advisory work continuing to rise, we are committed to enhancing our Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation capabilities to meet our clients’ needs. Krisa’s addition to the team addresses this and reinforces our strength in this area.”

Benskin helps guide clients in understanding and managing the executive compensation, employee, and benefits plan aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures by public and private companies. She’s well versed in guiding on golden parachute and severance arrangements, deferred compensation and other nonqualified plans, and equity-based compensation arrangements.

“Krisa brings exceptional depth of knowledge in employee benefits and tax advisory work, making her a tremendous asset. Her experience spans the design and compliance of retirement and health and welfare plans, and she is particularly skilled at guiding clients through complex IRS and DOL audits, Affordable Care Act requirements, and payroll tax issues,” said Josh Scala, Head of U.S. Tax. “Her know-how strengthens our ability to deliver comprehensive and strategic solutions to our public company clients who rely on us for securities advisory work as well as look to us for advice on benefit plans for their employees.”

“Krisa is a highly respected lawyer whose experience perfectly complements the market-leading work we’re doing in Texas,” said Bruce Oakley, Office Managing Partner - Houston. “Her arrival follows two recent Corporate & Finance additions in Houston, capital markets partner Jim Davidson and M&A partner Conor Larkin, further strengthening our team here.”

Benskin added, “I’m excited to join Hogan Lovells and help drive the continued growth of the firm’s Corporate & Finance practice group. There were many personal and professional reasons that drew me to this firm, but above all, the commitment to exceptional client service and collaborative culture were two key factors in my decision.”

Benskin received her JD from the University of Texas School of Law and her AB from Harvard College.
