Sweat Equity Day Benefits Those in Need

On 1 May 2014, a team of 20 volunteers from our Washington, D.C. office participated in a Sweat Equity Day to help assemble a new affordable housing facility on behalf of So Others Might Eat (SOME). The affordable housing facility, located in Southeast Washington, D.C., will provide 43 efficiency apartments to those in need. Our team spent the day levelling and hanging signs, installing doorbells, assembling furniture, and transporting items, among other tasks.

SOME, our former local Touch charity partner in Washington, D.C., helps people get off the streets, transform their lives, and live independently through programs, job training, and housing for homeless families and single adults. The Washington, D.C. office continues to volunteer with SOME regularly through their lunch service program and other events.
