Africa Power

The scale of need and opportunity for power and infrastructure project development in Africa remains colossal. In the 49 countries of sub-Saharan Africa, only approximately one-third of people have access to electricity, only two-thirds have access to running water, and transport access, density and quality rates are low even when compared to equivalent nations.

We have developed a mini-series on Africa power to examine the barriers to power development across the continent, real life success stories/solutions breaking down these barriers, and innovative new solutions which could be tested and further deployed across the continent. In turn, we examine the potential of renewable energy across the continent, the impact of governance, logistics and supply chain on power production, and finally discuss issues and solutions around securing funding for projects.
