Alan Lawrence represents institutional lenders and funds in all aspects of real estate financings and restructurings, and investors in the acquisition, financing and operation of commercial properties. His practice focuses on the representation of lenders, participants and servicers, as well as borrowers, in the origination and restructuring of mortgage and mezzanine loans, revolving credit facilities, public-to-private financings, debtor-in-possession facilities and other loans relating to commercial real estate.
Alan’s financing and restructuring experience includes preferred equity transactions, a broad range of co-lender, syndication and participation structures, and all types of commercial properties, including hotel, gaming, office, retail, industrial and multi-family properties. He also advises foreign investors in U.S. real estate; U.S. funds and institutions in their direct and indirect investments in commercial properties outside the U.S.; and investors in the negotiation of joint venture arrangements with domestic and foreign commercial real estate developers and the related due diligence investigations.
Alan was recently named to Lawdragon’s inaugural “Leading Global Real Estate Lawyers” guide.
Alan received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Tulane University and his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was an associate editor and special projects editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
