Hicham is an Associate in our Litigation team in Paris.

As an Associate in our Litigation team, Hicham focuses his practice on commercial and civil litigation in diverse industry sectors, with an emphasis on technology, media, telecommunication and e-commerce. Hicham’s practice also includes product compliance for market-leading technology companies, advising on cutting edge and high enforcement risk issues in relation to technology, media, e-commerce and online content regulation, as well as on major regulatory investigations. In this regard, Hicham has developed an expertise on the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Hicham has worked on several cross-border M&A and Private Equity transactions within the Corporate department of a leading international law firm, as well as on white-collar crime cases and fraud investigations within a boutique French law firm and as a Judicial Clerk for two specialiazed Investigative Judges in Paris.

Hicham graduated from the London School of Economics and Sciences Po Paris.

Representative experience

Advising some of the world’s largest providers of digital services, including online marketplaces, video-sharing and social media platforms, in relation to various online content regulation and other technology policy issues.

Acting for Twitter before the Paris Civil Court in relation to the landmark case brought against the social media platform by French MPs on the basis of the French Fake News Law.

Advising some of the world’s largest providers of digital services, including online marketplaces, video-sharing and social media platforms, in relation to French and European legislation from initial policy development through to implementation and judicial review challenges, such as the French Digital Law, French Media Law, French Hate Speech Laws, French Fake News Law, French Minor Protection Laws, Platform to Business Regulation, etc.

Advising one of the world’s largest providers of digital services from initial policy development through to the compliance with the EU Digital Services Act as well as in relation to compliance with various content regulations across multiple jurisdictions 

Advising one of the world’s largest artificial intelligence research and deployment company on its compliance with various EU Regulations, including the Digital Services Act
