Phoebe's work often focuses on product-related matters, advising manufacturers on the array of legal issues they face, from pre-dispute strategy and risk management to trying cases and securing verdicts and awards. She has handled disputes for clients across many industries including consumer products, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, retail, and energy.
Known as being a "brilliant legal strategist" and honing in on "what works," Phoebe is called upon to sit side by side with corporate counsel, corporate executives, engineers and other business team professionals to reach their goals inside and outside the courtroom.
Phoebe is a member of the firm’s International Management Committee, working with the CEO and leadership team to formulate, implement and execute on the strategic direction for Hogan Lovells. In her role as Global Managing Partner for Growth she leads the team that works with the partnership, its attorneys and business services professionals to deliver strategic and exceptional legal services to the firm’s clients through the firm’s market-renowned Client programs, leveraging Hogan Lovells’ industry-leading Sector strategy.
Prior to joining the International Management Committee Phoebe held several different leadership roles during her tenure at the firm including being elected to the Hogan Lovells Global Board and chairing the firm’s Advancement Committee. She has also served on the global Litigation, Arbitration & Employment leadership team, as co-lead of the Electronics & Consumer Appliances sector, and head of the NY Litigation practice.
Led team representing multiple parties defending against sprawling nationwide consumer fraud class action, securing numerous favorable rulings which caused plaintiffs to drop all claims.
Coordinated team and entire defense strategy culminating in denial of certification of nationwide consumer fraud class action alleging claims concerning LED televisions.
Led team that defeated class certification in a consumer fraud/RICO nationwide class action alleging claims concerning commercial HVAC products.
International coordinating defense counsel to product manufacturer definding against product claims in countries across Europe, North America and Latin America.
Successful representation of several global life sciences companies in arbitration disputes arising out of development, licensing, and co-promotion agreements.
Obtained a complete defense verdict at trial, and secured appellate affirmance, in contract dispute between a product manufacturer and an asset-based lender.
Secured denial of class certification and dismissal of claims for clients accused of conspiracy and fraud regarding the sale of Blu-Ray players.
Obtained a US$24m jury verdict after a three-week trial on behalf of a bank alleging it was sold fraudulent Parmalat promissory notes.
Obtained complete dismissal of consumer fraud class action alleging claims that the manufacturer didn't comply with the U.S. Energy Star program.
